Stories have to be told or they die, and when they die, we can’t remember who we are or why we’re here.
— Sue Monk Kidd
We all have stories that reflect the mosaic of our life experience. Your Life, Your Stories is our platform for bringing your memories into the light to share with family, friends, clients, or others with whom you have a special sense of community.
We offer several ways to help write your legacy:
Guided Autobiography
Known informally as GAB, Guided Autobiography is a popular and highly regarded technique for writing your life story. The program, which was pioneered by a leading gerontologist, the late James Birren, Ph.D., at the University of Southern California, brings people together in small, facilitated groups to write and share stories from their lives, two pages at a time. Margaret is certified as a GAB instructor by the Birren Center for Autobiographical studies and offers classes in a variety of settings along the Connecticut Shoreline. Assisted or commissioned memoirs
If you’re interested in writing a memoir but feel you’d like some individual help with organizing and editing the material for publication, we’re here to help. Margaret’s editorial background and collaborative approach to working with clients will speed the process and help produce a memoir you’ll be proud to share. If you’d like us to take on the full job of crafting your book, that, too, is within our scope of services. Margaret will work with you to understand your goals and determine the best approach to achieving them.
Personal stories
Sometimes one simply wants to record reminiscences of life events or create an informal narrative for family members. With a strong sense of history and the importance of every life, we’ve spent happy hours listening to the stories of friends and family members across generations and will be pleased to talk about how we can work with you to preserve these memories.
We help you tell your story.
